I'll be releasing these like every day in 7 parts all together :) enjoy!
I just wanna thank Aana Toulson for helping me with this story...to all those that don't know...she is just an amazing person <3 :)
“I love you...”
“I love you too...”
“So what are you up to?”
“I’m just...I gotta go now, bye!”
“B...y,” But before she could finish, he hung up abruptly.
And he knew why...
Hakim was born into and brought up in a strict religious family, which meant that for him that his life was. Well, it was as if someone gouged out his left eye...his family's view of the outside world restricted. Throughout his childhood his parents tried their utmost to hide him away from western customs. They want him live the life of their culture back in Karachi, “A land where kids can be innocent, uncorrupted unlike those here..."The parents would say to him.
8:40 pm, Saturday 12th April...2008.
He looked on the digital clock plastered on his bedroom wall. Hakim was laying on his bed, thinking to himself.
Am I doing the right thing? Will my parents accept this?
He looked blankly at the ceiling. Trying to picture her face, and yet...
The trouble was for Hakim was that a lot of her pictures on her MySpace were quite rather obscure. There were pictures of her only half her face because she had turned it to avoid the shot or she was hiding in her hoodie, pictures of just parts of her face - lips, eyes, etc.
Not only had he had to piece together what she looked like, but even acessing her MySpace was difficult. Since he didn’t have internet in his household and his school had a filtering system, the only time he could access MySpace was on a Saturday for an hour in the local library. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, the parents would say, “Come back in an hour, you must get back home and not hang around those white people.” Of course, originally, Hakim had argued that western people weren’t “All that bad...”, But that would lead to them saying, "You do not respect your parents!” Usually, this was followed by a
swift slap or a kick to the shins...
OoOoO
The flames flared a searing red everywhere where Hakim looked. The fire were gathering pace at an alarming rate and began to close in on him. Hakim noticed a small gap between the flames. Hakim ran as fast as possible in the slim hope that he could find salvation
He'd almost escaped the spontaneous combustion, but something made Hakim turn back. A glimpse of sweet chocolate brown locks caught in the tempest. Shining blue eyes, innocent lips... All inhibitions swept away on a wave of ecstasy as their eyes met, and for the first time in his life he knew he'd found a person that truly understood him-
But in an instant, it was gone. She vanished like cigarette ash in the breeze, and he knew the fire/flames/spontaneous combustion had engulfed her."
"Numb, swaying on the brink of insanity, Hakim almost missed the last utterance of his love-
"I thought you loved me..."
Insitictively, his mouth opened to put the accusation to rest, only for the flames to rush in and cook him from the inside..."
What goes around...comes all the...
Greeted by the ringtone of his text message, Hakim abruptly arrived in the world of human consciousness.
“Arrrrrgh...” He bellowed lazily as he felt rough and hungover. His eyes snapped open as soon as he saw the name of the sender.
“Julia.”
“Hey Hakim, I’m in Bradford today ;), where do u wanna meet up?! Love u, can’t wait 2 c u xxx”
